Yang holds a Masters of Sport Development and Management from the University of Otago and has a strong background in sport development, programme coordination and community engagement.

At The Game, Yang works as the Sports Development Officer – Chinese Programmes, with a particular focus on increasing tennis participation and developing player pathways within Auckland’s Chinese community. He works closely with Chinese-speaking players, families, clubs and schools to help connect participants with suitable programmes, development opportunities and competition pathways.

Yang is also responsible for supporting programme development, participant engagement, Chinese-language communications and community outreach. He works with The Game’s wider team to identify participation needs, develop new opportunities, support player retention and strengthen connections between the organisation and Auckland’s Chinese community.

His goal is to help make tennis more accessible to Chinese-speaking families and to create clear, sustainable pathways for people to participate and progress in the sport.
