Introduced to Tennis at a very young age by his father, Nathan played tennis at a national and international level until an injury at 18 forced him into early retirement. 

A full-time coach ever since, Nathan spent 6 years coaching in London at the Sutton Tennis Academy, working with some of the best junior players in the UK. Players ranged from those playing U14 to WTA/ATP Tours, including Jack Draper (ATP #15). Returning to Auckland in 2014, Nathan worked at Tennis Auckland and is now overseeing the day-to-day program at West End Lawn Tennis Club in the role of Head Coach, one of the largest in the country, whilst still coaching some of the best juniors, and top NZ female player, Valentina Ivanov.  Nathan was also appointed NZ Youth Olympics Coach in 2018.
