Development Tennis Coach
The Game (www.thegame.net.nz) is a tennis management company that delivers comprehensive coaching programs to all ages and abilities in 5 clubs and around 30 schools across Auckland.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Development Tennis Coach to join our growing North Shore team. Working under the guidance of our Head Coach, this role is ideal for a coach with experience delivering Hot Shots and junior development programs.
This is a full-time position with for 30 hours per week, including afternoons, evenings and weekends. The successful applicant will be based primarily at Campbells Bay and may also have opportunities to work across other Auckland venues operated by The Game.
About the role
- Deliver Hot Shots (Blue, Red, Orange and Green Ball) programs in the club and local schools
- Coach beginner and intermediate junior players
- Assist with Junior Academy and pathway programmes
- Deliver private lessons where appropriate
- Build positive relationships with players and parents
- Create a fun, engaging and professional learning environment
- Support club and programme activities throughout the year
Remuneration
NZD $30–$40 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
What we’re looking for
Essential
- A minimum of 2 years previous tennis coaching experience
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Positive, energetic and professional attitude & a willingness to learn
- Ability to engage and motivate young players
- Reliable and punctual Experience working with children aged 5–12 years
- Experience delivering group coaching sessions
- Clean Police Vet (Childrens’ Act)
- Existing right to work in New Zealand.
- ITF Level 1 Coach qualification (or currently working towards it)
- Mandarin-speaking ability
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
